The Application of Central Conveying System in Consumer Goods Industry

An Industrial Co., Ltd. in Nanchang is a well-known enterprise for its competitive strength in manufacturing vacuum bottles, glass products and daily consumer goods.

The client wants to plan a new workshop with the central conveying system of 19 sets of 160T-380T IMMs. Before planning, our engineers have already made field investigation in the client’s plant to ascertain their demands, finally providing an integrated solution of central conveying system to the customer.

The three common granules used in the workshop are PP, ABS and AS without fibers, and a Doser uses the soft plastics. Each IMM is equipped with a Volumetric Doser SCM-12. Because 19 sets of IMMs consume large amounts of materials, if a single blower is designed for the feeding, it will be resulting in long cycle time, and frequent blower starts to shorten the service life of the blower. So, we arranged 19 sets of IMMs in two zones that are in front and at the back of the plant: IMMs 1#-9# are placed at zone A, and IMMs 10#-19# are placed at zone B, with two Roots blowers SRB-100-V to supply the air. The customized material storage tank MST-100 collocated with SBU-160-50S-V processes one-to-one conveying of the soft plastics. PP and ABS in take-up of 75-80% of material consumption in keep in the two material storage tanks and two shut-off suction boxes are used to keep the materials. The other material consumption is about 20%, which also uses two material storage tanks with the shut-off suction box to feed the IMMs, enabling satisfaction of customer’s demands of 3-4 hrs continuous feeding with each full material storage tank.



The material distribution station is designed to SMDS-6*5-2”, with six groups of 1-to-5 branch pipes on the distribution bracket, so that all the IMMs can choose one of the three materials correspondingly. At the material inlet of the IMMs: for the eight sets of IMMs that need to try the materials, it plans the Volumetric Doser SCM-12 with the Dryer SHD-160U and Hopper Receiver SHR-24U-S; for the rest machines with no need of drying, it plans the SCM-12 with the main material hopper and hopper receiver SHR-24U-S. 

For the control: a set of SCCS-200-G-C-10.4’’ Central Control Station is designed to monitor the auto-feeding system of the whole workshop to stabilizes the operation of the system.
